My first time snowboarding, and I gotta say, although the first hour consisted of me sliding my way left and into the orange fence nets, falling into ditches, and cussing my way down the hill, I had a great time. Going down the slopes and looking at the view from all the way up the mountain is a very memorable view I won't forget for a while. Looking forward to doing that again, but with a whole lot more padding after some tough falls on my stomach and ass. Got the hang of it though after a few hours..

The view up top

Look mom, I'm going snowboarding!

The girls

The dudes

one year has passed

One year has passed to this day, since one of my closest friends in high school passed away.. Most likely cause I'm spoiled to have lived 30 minutes away from New York City, and be able to commute to NYC any day and at any time. I miss the city life, the excitement of things going on, whether on the street, or some big production thing that can be within a block from where you are. Although it's sometimes a pain in the ass, I miss having to walk through mass crowds down streets or even in the train station. Everyone you see is going somewhere, everyone has a story they're running on...

I took this video on my way back home for Thanksgiving weekend in Penn Station on 34th street, between 6th and 7th avenue, in New York City. I had to make a stop in NYC since the bus only stops in the city, and not in New Jersey.. but I didn't mind it at all... Things like this, seeing and hearing a performer underground in the station, while looking around and seeing everyone go in any direction possible.. the life of it... it's a whole lot more I can say than about Baltimore's hollowedness...

Watch and listen...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Kind of.... two pictures of campus tonight...

Cold November day... Winter's coming

Wow I've neglected this blogger for such a while (about 3 weeks)... My bad, what can I say.. it was a crazy November.. Now that the events of the 21st birthday, the Josh Kelley concert mania, and Thanksgiving weekend have come and gone, I think things will be getting a lot calmer..

I'm back in Baltimore (got in 2 hours ago) after another great weekend back in Jersey... Still settling in (putting off) work before I buckle down and realized how screwed I am.. but I gotta say, usually I hear people shouting outside, tires screeching, or other stuff, but it's really quiet outside... it's a nice change, although I know everyone is coming back this evening.. The quiets of a hallowed out city on a nice, but brisk, fall/winter afternoon...

Time to start some work, but expect more to come throughout the week...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://noklue13.blogspot.com/2005/11/cold-november-day-winters-coming.html' title='Cold November day... What about Tampa Bay?"

she goes "tell me about it, they even named this conference room after the Browns."

no way, she had to be kidding... but then i walk outside the room, and then look at the sign next to the door... guess what it says? "Cleveland Browns huddle room"

it took me a couple of seconds to realize that they did in fact name the room after the Browns, and was confused for a while.. but then, after a minute of trying to figure it out and giving it.. i cracked, up, and laughed, my,ass, off... completely random, and hilarious

huddle room? well after asking around about that, it seems as though the telemarketing people like to call their conference rooms as "huddle rooms".. either that, or my mind is tripping.. out of all things.. cleveland browns, and then the huddle room.. someone must be messing with my mind, hahaha.. but nope... but tomorrow i gotta ask them, why cleveland? haha

so, i'm in the Cleveland Browns world for the rest of the week, and possibly for the 2 weeks i'm back in Tampa.. insane

.....oh yeah, i was kidding about the autograph, haha sucker

exhausted, it's gonna be an early night.. i'm stuffed from some awesome lunch/dinner.. ahh gotta love free food.. but of course, thank goodness there's a gym here... peace, ZZZzz

Ahh Tampa.. i haven't seen much of you yet, but tomorrow's another story...

I got in about an hour ago... the flight was okay, it was actually kind of smooth.. except about an hour in, I think we hit the outskirts of Hurricane Dennis, so it was a really shaky ride.. sat next to a nice elderly lady, who i asked about Tampa.. but also sat next to some dude who looked like Steve from Blues Clues... i was waiting for him to ask me to find 3 blues clues and sing his little dandy "we solved the riddle" song, but he only asked me about my mp3 player.. bummer

our video for the flight was Miss Congeniality 2... It's one of the best times, being able to spend most of the night outdoors, hopefully in the nice warm weather, with some of your closest friends and watching a band that you've been wanting to see since the past summer. The athmosphere is just unbelievable, since everyone is more open, more talkative, and have a ton of energy throughout the concert. There is such a carefree feeling among the crowd, who just go completely insane when they hear some of the songs they've been wanting to hear, and it's one of the best feelings in the world to be a part of that crowd, just letting go, and soaking in everything that is all about the summer. It's just awesome to be able to strike up a conversation with people around you and where you are, whether in seats or on the lawn, out of nowhere and enjoy the concert or night together. Ahhh summer

4 concerts have gone by, all different concerts. From seeing an up-and-coming band at a local venue in Jersey, to an outdoor concert with 35,000 others in a stadium/amphitheatre. Top two highlights were Jet/Oasis, seeing that concert on the floor at Madison Square Garden in NYC. I've seriously seen some of the best concerts ever there.. No concert magic can ever top the energy found in the city. It was unbelievable going crazy and seeing everyone into the concert, giving it their all, and the band feeding off of that energy, put on right now one of the best concerts this summer for me.

A fan's view of the concert from the floor, from the show I went to (I didn't record this)

Dave Matthews Band at Hershey Park, PA.. what a fun concert, built up from a great day in the theme park (yeah, I got free chocolate).. this was what the summer should be all about, enjoying most of the day just having a blast, whether it be in a park or partying it up, and then hittin up the concert at night.. finally saw my favorite band after 3 years or not being able to.

Live on, concerts, more to come soon.... one of the best feelings in the world to attend these concerts, and everything that makes up that concert day/night.... just a big part of what these summers are all about

yup, it's 2:30 pm right now, I should be at work, but I took the day off since I haven't been feeling well.. but tomorrow will resume

Underground artist plug #1

I'll be doin this weekly, since these bands are awesome...

This week:

The Low Life

music: reggae, funk, rock.... they are known on the east coast (sell out the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD, where a lot of known named bands perform). Most times we feel important to the company we work with and believe we are making a big difference and contributing significantly... buttt, while we do things that are important, most times most of the work we do is stuff that the regular employees didn't want to spend time doin, haha, right? pretty much they unload that stuff on us (exaggerated example: The Life Aquatic of Steve Zissou", when Bill Murray always says "interns, go!" to do something he didn't want to do"..

Of course, it's great experience and you do learn a lot, while having a better chance of gettin a good job.. but still, you are for at least some part, the "b*tch" for the dept/company. they just use "intern" as the euphorism for it, hahaha..

Yes, my cubicle this summer has some random storage boxes.. and oh yeah, i have my own Swingline stapler... hasn't been stolen yet, but i did somehow lose a highlighter after my first day of work, hahaha

Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta

another demo excerpt, from earlier this year...

Demos are fun

Demos

As many of you know, I try to write my own music songs/etc. just cause it's actually pretty fun, esp knowing that you've made something on your own from scratch. It's just pretty sweet to be able to just pick up the guitar, and make any melody/music that relates to how you're feeling at the time... It's also cool to be able to make your own decisions on how you think the beginning parts of a song should be and then improve on it after a few times of creating the song for the first time.

Now with this cool program online, i can create different tracks of music and blend 'em together.. Kind of like a Howie Day method of things, cept I have to record the individual parts.. In the end, of even just hearing one part of the song, it's pretty cool how it's been turning out so far..

Take this for example.. the first demo of this summer

This is obviously not complete, but eh... I kind of made it up outta nowhere and then added some percussion/fills to it, and cause of that, I'm starting to get a sense of where this song is headed. take a listen for the heck of it, cause it's real short, but it's a work in progress.. what do you think?

Hello helloooo

what's up everyone, I decided to make this for the heck of it, and write in it and stuff throughout the summer.. basically, about constant ramblings about whatever, but mainly music stuff... it's not one of those personal journals where I write what's bugging me, or what i've been up to.. i'm not going to be talking about friends and etc...

instead it'll be on stuff that I just think basically "hmmm that's interesting stuff" or whatever... haha, you'll see I guess what i'm talking about.
